EEVblog #262 - World's Simplest Soft Latching Power Switch Circuit
Why people recommend it
Dave Jones presents a low part count soft latching power switch built around a P-channel MOSFET and push button; hobbyists use it as a starting point for one-button power control.
Watch for: capacitor sizing so a held button does not oscillate
In their words
I have stumbled upon a soft power switch with low part count on EEVBlog, which I found very interesting for my hobbyist projects:

This is similar to the simpler circuit that Dave Jones from EEVblog showcases in his "Soft Latching Power Switch" video, which we also implemented in circuits.io for comparison:

The original circuit idea is not mine, it comes from Dave Jones over at EEVblog.
